Hanna Kowal is a poet and creative writer from Richmond Hill, Ontario whose work takes on themes of music, nature, and introspection. She works as a music review writer for Pop Passion Blog, and has written for Heroica.co. Her poems are featured in journals and platforms including You Might Need To Hear This, Evensong Press, and Festival for Poetry. In 2022, she released her debut collection called People Pleaser: A Collection of Poems. Her speech and song about gender equality and the importance of creating equitable platforms for expression and storytelling were featured in Plan International Canada’s 2021 Youth Summit Storyteller’s Symposium. She believes in the importance of the writing community, and her experience as both an interviewee and interviewer in Word Sleuth’s international author interview series has only enhanced this view. Hanna has worked in the wellness, sustainability, and music industries, and aims to use her experiences to inform her writing. In addition to her passion for words, Hanna enjoys playing guitar, practising yoga, and enjoying live performances of both music and drama.
